「展覧会」から「遊画会」へ

今まで「桜」「藤」「椿」「松」「岩」など樹木や花、 岩、 動物などを中心に描いてきた。 それら襖絵作品を、 回廊状に展示することで、 まるで花や樹の中にいるかのような空間を演出できればと思っている。また、 古民家やお寺、 ホテルなど、 美術館やギャラリー以外での、 建築や町並みと一体として楽しめるような展示。 さらには、 音楽やダンスとのコラボレーションもどんどん増やしてゆきたいとも考えている。 街を散策し、 景色や季節を味わう。 そして、 建物と絵画を愛で、 食事や温泉を楽しんで帰る。地方には地方の、 風があり、 光があり、 匂いがあり、 食べ物があり、 その場所ならではの人々との出会いを僕自身も楽しみにしている。

From “Exhibitions” to “Yūga-kai” (Wandering Painting Gatherings)

 

Until now, I have mainly painted trees and flowers—such as cherry blossoms, wisteria, camellias, pines—as well as rocks and animals. By displaying these fusuma-e (sliding door paintings) in a corridor-like arrangement, I hope to create a space that feels as if one is surrounded by blossoms and trees.

 

I also envision exhibitions held not only in museums and galleries, but in places such as traditional Japanese houses, temples, and hotels—settings where the works can be enjoyed as one with the architecture and the townscape itself. Furthermore, I would like to increase collaborations with music and dance.

 

To stroll through a town and savor its scenery and seasons; to admire both the building and the paintings; and then to return home after enjoying local food and hot springs. Each region has its own wind, its own light, its own scent, its own cuisine—and I am truly looking forward to the encounters with people that can only happen in each place.
